What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer is an equipment which is spring loaded. It allows for dynamic resistance training in a variety of postures. Pilates strengthens muscles like the core and the glutes. These muscles are very important for posture and preventing injuries. Reformer makes it easier to exercise these muscles. Reformer is also great for proprioceptive neuromuscular stretching (PNF).

How are the sessions run?
Sessions are all run individual one on one basis by Simran. An initial assessment to set an individual plan to meet your goals. Individual sessions focus on ensuring good technique and they are tailored to your needs.
Group versus Individual sessions:
Best way to start reformer Pilates is by individual one on one basis to ensure correct technique. Incorrect technique leads to injuries and individual goals may not be met.
If you are doing group reformer Pilates or some other type of exercise, then you can still benefit from the individual sessions. The individual sessions teach the Pilates principles with an aim to improve functional fitness. You can implement these principles in any form of exercise and in your daily living to optimise your physical health.
How many sessions will I need to attend and how often?
Frequency of sessions and the number of sessions will depend on the individual’s goals and their current fitness level. Most benefit is from regular practice and implementation of the Pilates principles.
Am I fit enough to do Pilates?
Pilates is low impact. The exercises are performed in various positions with varying degrees of difficulty depending on the individual’s fitness and experience. People with current injuries, seniors, pregnant women or anyone simply wanting to improve fitness, can all do Pilates.
What is the cost?
Special offer – sessions are $50 (usually $70) for half hour. You may be able to claim through your health fund and save more. There is hicaps on site.
